The object of this research is to analyze the articulations between external constraint and internal dynamics as an important element which determines the industrialization of a developing country. The balance of payment is chosen as an instrument appreciating the external constraint. Instead of the neoclassic and marxist approaches which privilege external factors in the process of the industrialization, on the contrary our approach puts great emphasis, in the empirical method and in the precise case, in particular in the process of the industrialization in korea, on the necessity which constructs a coherent, productive system on the national basis, that is on the accumulation of capital in order to overcome the constraints to the balance of payment. This analysis consists of two parts : a) the analysis of the modalities of insertion in the international economy through the study on the commercial insertion and the control of the external debt. B) the analysis of the modalities of internal adjustment through the study on the strength of the industrial capacity and on the expansion of the internal market.

L'objet de cette recherche est de mettre en lumiere les articulations entre contrainte exterieure et dynamique interne en tant qu'element determinant de l'industrialisation d'un pays en voie de developpement. La balance des paiements est choisie comme outil d'appreciation de la contrainte exterieure. En rejetant les approches mondialistes - communes aux courants neoclassique et marxiste - qui privilegient les facteurs externes dans le processus d'industrialisation, cette recherche montre, de maniere empirique et dans le cas precis du processus d'industrialisation de la coree du sud, la necessite de la construction d'un appareil productif coherent reposant sur une base nationale autonome d'accumulation du capital afin de surmonter la contrainte de la balance des paiements. Cette analyse se construit autour de deux parties : a) l'analyse des modalites d'insertions dans l'economie interna- tionale a travers l'etude de l'insertion commerciale et de la maitrise de l'endettement exterieure. B) l'analyse des modalites d'ajustement interne a travers l'etude du renforcement des capacites industrielles et de l'elargissement du marche interieur.
