Ana Manda : les enfants du filet : identité collective, créativité sociale et production de la différence culturelle : un cas muxiluanda

Starting from a given perspective according to which the collective identity of most african countries requires the assertion of a cultural difference made of several mixing cultural differences corresponding to as many particular collective identities, we comme to the conclusion that these particular identities produce and reproduce themselves at the same time. We will take into consideration the case of some traditional fishermen from luanda's sea coast - the axiluanda - and will try to find out their specific answer - economical, political, social and cultural - to past and present historical situations. Taking a given residential territory, this work will be concerned with the material and symbolic currents of relationship towards itself and towards the exterior, which lead to a wider collec- tive identity and define the present muxiluanda cultural conscience. The relation- ship between this process and the one concerning the quest for national identity will lead us to some considerations regarding the problem of cultural policies. Since we have used audiovisual material, both for the research and the exhibition of its results, we will also include a few comments about the use of audiovisual techniques in anthropology.

On partira d'une problematique d'ordre general selon laquelle l'affirmation de leur identite collective par la plupart des pays africains passe obligatoirement par l'affirmation d'une difference culturelle qui exprimera, quant a elle, la convergence d'autres differences correspondant a autant d'identites parcellaires. On arrivera a la constatation que ces identites parcellaires se produisent et reproduisent en meme temps. On prendra le cas de certains artisans pecheurs de la cote luandaise -les axiluanda - en cherchant a deceler les termes de leur reponse collective - eco- nomique, politique, sociale et culturelle - a diverses situations historiques. Partant d'un espace residentiel donne, l'etude portera sur les courants de relations qui le projettent vers l'interieur de lui-meme et vers l'horizon des zones privile- giees d'echanges materiels et symboliques qui definissent les contours actuels d'une conscience muxiluanda et menent a une identification collective plus vaste. Le fait de pouvoir etablir un rapport entre ce processus ponctuel de "production de difference" et celui de la recherche d'une identite nationale conduira a l'examen de certaines questions tenant aux politiques culturelles. Ayant utilise certains moyens audiovisuels, tant dans la recherche que pour l'exposition des resultats, on poursuivra en outre une reflexion sur l'emploi de l'audiovisuel en anthropologie.
