The purpose of this study is to analyse the informal sector in Morocco with an institutional perspective. As the theorical discussion between neo-institutionalism, French " economy of conventions " and French " theory of regulation " (TR) refers to the opposition between methodological individualism and methodological holism, we consider that only a holist approach can apprehend the power relationship inherent in economic links and the historical specificities of developing countries. In order to go beyond the limits of TR, which was created in the context of developed countries, we propose to resort to structuralist studies in development economics. Then we analyse the sociohistorical factors of the emergence of the informal sector in Morocco and finally the relations between institutions, organizations, regulation and informal sector, by studying the development mode of Morocco, the organizational model of the informal units and the formal and informal institutions which sustains it.

Nous proposons une analyse institutionnaliste du secteur informel au Maroc. Le débat théorique entre le néo-institutionnalisme, l'économie des conventions et la théorie de la régulation (TR) renvoyant fondamentalement à l'opposition individualisme/holisme méthodologiques, nous considérons que seule une approche holiste permet la prise en compte des rapports de pouvoir inhérents aux relations économiques et des particularités historiques des pays en développement. Afin de dépasser les limites de la TR, qui a été forgée dans le contexte des pays développés, nous proposons de recourir aux travaux structuralistes d'économie du développement. Puis nous analysons les facteurs socio-historiques d'émergence du secteur informel au Maroc et enfin les relations entre institutions, organisations, régulation et secteur informel, à travers l'étude du mode de développement marocain, du modèle organisationnel des unités informelles et des institutions, formelles et informelles, qui le sous-tendent.
