This thesis was written in the framework of french theories especially mauss'and dumont" it is concerned with the totality of society which takes the form of a hierarchy of vallues, dealing with encompassments, hierarchical oppositions, chaque of level and inversions. Brother-sister relation is dominant both when expressed in terms of same sexe (eb-yb; ez-yz) and in terms of opposite sexe (b and z), in the first case, eb encompasses the others, while in the second, b represents the totality. Intermariage shows that bz relation becomes a crossing of relations and mouvements which composes kinship and society. Thoughter mariage, a sister leaves her brother's group : she is a "true" in her husband's house ; meanwhile she is an "outsider" in her father's house, through his mariage, a brother is classified as an "outsideer" in his wb's house; meanwhile he is a "true" in his father's house. It means that bz relation is both structured by separation and union. The rituals use the same kinship classes and structures to establish the relation between the living and the dead, the "true" class represents the totality and brings offerings to the dead while the class "outsider" prepares the ritual, rithual in general. And mariage in particular show that bz are separated by mariage and unified by ritual in order to reconfirm the totality of the society. "outsider's" and "true's" ritual services give meaning to the bz relation as a crossing and a locus inthe nuculu's ideology, they are at a crossing-point between the vertical father's line which transfers the group's name and the oblique mb's line which transfers the ancestral life, defined as ancestrality (totality). La these degage le tout de la societe nuaulu fondee sur la distinction et l'opposition issues d'abord de l'analyse du vocabulaire de la parente. Ce tout est mis en oeuvre par la structure marquee par l'englobement du contraire, le changement de niveau et l'inversion. La relation de germanite est prepinderante. Avec les termes de sexe relatif de meme sexe "aine-cadet", l'ainesses represente le tout. Avec les termes de sexe realtif de sexe oppose "frere-soeur", hanave represente le tout. L'inter-mariage souligne que la relation "frere-soeur" devient un croisement de relations et de mouvements. A son mariage une soeur quitte sa propre maison et entre dans la maison de son mari, cependant qu'un frere s'intalle dans la maison du frere de son epouse. Le mariage relie alors trois groupes de parente hierarchises : d'une part, la soeur et son mari son "d'ailleurs" dans la maison du frere, alors qu'elle est "vrai" dans la maison de son mari. D'autre part, le frere est "vrai" dans sa propre maison, alors qu'il est "d'ailleurs" dans la maison du frere de son epouse. Les rites utilisent les memes classes pour confirmer la relation entre les vivants et les morts. La classe "vraie" represente le tout et offre le repas aux morts, tandis que la classe d'ailleurs" prepare le rituel. Les services rendus menent a comprendre le tout. Le croisment des relations "frere-soeur" devient un lieu de l'ideologie nuaulu, la ligne verticale transmettant le nom du groupe et la ligne oblique de l'oncle maternel transmettant la vie ancestrale definie comme ancestralite et representant le tout. La perennite de l'ancestralite se fonde sur deux services principaux : venant du bas.
