Study of the representations, classifications and behaviours of social actors when faced with illness or social disfunctionning, and of the significations given to the practices used to combat these woes. The religious-magic activities of healing, called "curanderismo" in venezuela, compose a living social phenomenon in which converge knowledge and use of plants, various technics, myths and therapeutic rires which include psychological and physical manipulations, relational therapies, and rites whom aim is to heal or repel both physical and social illbeing. They are also practices for mastering fate and that all projects meet with success. But they are also rituals used to neutralize or to produce, by magic, the sorcery. The "curanderismo" is a two-dimensional practice, horizontal and vertical, which touches simultaneously the material and the social being. It has a religious action which provides a personal communication with the sacred, action which permits the individual to transcend profane reality. In this context, healing occurs within different domains, psychological, religious socio-culturel. The "curanderismo" is thus a multidimensional praxis.

Etude des representations, classifications et comportements des acteurs sociaux face a la maladie et le mal-etre social qu'a la signification qu'ils donnent aux pratiques utilisees pour combattre ces maux. Les pratiques magiques religieuses de guerison appelees au venezuela "curanderismo" sont un phenomene social vivant ou convergent une connaissance et une manipulation de plantes, de diverses techniques, de mythes et de rites therapeutiques qui incluent manipulations psychologique et physique, therapies relationnelles et rites visant a guerir le mal-etre social. Ce sont egalement des pratiques pour la maitrise du destin, pour assurer la reussite et tout projet humain. Mais ce sont aussi des rituels visant a neutraliser ou produire par la voie magique la sorcellerie (le mal). Le "curanderismo" est une pratique a double dimension : horizontale et verticale, qui touche a la fois l'existence profane et sacree. Il degage egalement une action religieuse et assure aux individus la communication avec le sacre leur permettant de transcender la realite profane. La guerison dans cette pratique, s'inscrit dans les differents domaines : psychologique, religieux et socio-culturel. Le "curanderismo" est par la meme une pratique multidimensionnelle.
