Abstract EN:

The mass-media in greece, that is to say the radio-television and the daily press are meeting a crisis which is developing slowly but continuously. Consequently publicity has become an object of hard competition between the two components of the greek radio-television, which both behave as private enterprises although they are public services. The crisis has driven the daily press into a dependence to the political power, due to the financial help granted by the state to the publishing companies. Greece is thus confronted, in a most crucial way to the necessity of considering the imperatives connected to the communication and media era.

Les grands medias, en grece, c'est-a-dire la radiotelevision et la presse quotidienne, se trouvent dans une crise economique et administrative a evolution lente mais permanente. En consequence la publicite est devenue un objet de concurrence intense entre les deux organismes de la radiotelevision grecque, lesquels etant des services publics, se comportent comme des entreprises privees. En ce qui concerne la presse quotidienne, cette crise l'a rendue dependante du pouvoir politique a cause des facilites financieres que l'etat accorde aux proprietaires des maisons editrices. La grece est donc confronte de maniere cruciale a la necessite de prendre en compte les imperatifs lies a l'ere des communications et des medias.
