By studying the question of the self in the works of Meister Eckhart, we want to focus on the self as appropriated singularity, as this concept is thematised in the German work of the Dominican. In this very specifically pastoral context, we question the relationship between the communication inherent to the addressed speech of the preacher and the becoming of the listener’s self. Our route includes three stages through which this intuition is verified and supported. We analyze firstly the question of the ‘self concern’ in Eckhart’s work, as it appears in the German treatises. The ‘self concern’ – a path of individualization towards a personal truth - supplies the philosophical foundations to think of the self in a continual confrontation with the world and to the activity of man within the world. The relationship to oneself and the various modes of its expression form the core of this part. We confront then these results with the notion of the ‘detachment’, in order to show in which way and under which conditions the ‘self’ as untied can be still considered a self. This self, free of any objectivation and of any dependence in front of a cause, which is alien to him by essence, finds an attitude which allows him to acquire freedom in the world. The untied self is the one which succeeds to consider his own what elsewhere should belong to another founding of him. In conclusion, we emphasize the way in which the singularity of the self by Meister Eckart is thinkable within the path toward the union with God. This one is not a fusion but a dynamic in which every entity participates, in its own way, to the constitution of this union.

En étudiant la question du moi chez Maître Eckhart, nous voulons mettre en lumière le moi comme singularité appropriée, tel qu’il est thématisé dans l’œuvre allemande du dominicain. Dans ce contexte très spécifiquement pastoral, nous interrogeons la relation existant entre la communication inhérente à la parole adressée du prêcheur et le devenir du moi de l’auditeur. Notre parcours comprend trois étapes à travers lesquelles cette intuition est vérifiée et étayée. Nous analysons d’abord la question du souci de soi chez Eckhart, tel qu’il apparaît dans les traités allemands. Le souci de soi -chemin d’individualisation vers une vérité personnelle- fournit les fondements philosophiques pour penser le moi dans une confrontation continuelle au monde et à l’agir de l’homme dans le monde. Le rapport à soi et les différents modes de son expression constituent le point central de cette partie. Nous confrontons ensuite ces résultats à la notion du détachement pour montrer dans quelle mesure et à quelles conditions, le moi détaché peut encore être dit un moi. Ce moi, libre de toute objectivisation et de toute dépendance vis-à-vis d’une cause à lui étrangère par essence, trouve une attitude qui lui permet d’acquérir une liberté dans le monde. Le moi détaché est celui qui réussit à se penser comme ayant en propre ce que pourrait n’appartenir qu’à un autre le constituant. Pour finir, nous mettons en évidence de quelle façon, la singularité du moi chez Eckhart est pensable dans le chemin de l’union avec Dieu. Celle-ci n’est pas une fusion entre le moi et Dieu mais une dynamique dans laquelle chaque entité en présence participe à sa façon à la constitution de cette union.
