The aim of this thesis is to determine the capacity of the brazilian economy to adapt to the recent transformations in nature and intensity of the international restrictions acting on the set of peripheral economies. Consequently, its way of insertion in the international work division, its capability to attract direct foreign investments, its industrial structure, its dynamic in partitioning rents and its own innovations system have been analyzed in details. Finally, it is shown that the perspectives for the brazilian economics are still open.

L'objectif de cette these est de determiner la capacite d'adaptation de l'economie bresilienne aux recentes transformations de la nature et de l'intensite des contraintes internationales pesant sur l'ensemble des economies peripheriques. Pour ce faire, son mode de specialisation internationale, son pouvoir d'attraction aux investissements directs de l'etranger, sa structure industrielle, sa dynamique de repartition des revenus et son systeme d'innovations ont ete etudies en detail. Finalement, il est montre que les perspectives pour l'economie bresilienne restent assez ouvertes.
