Abstract EN:

This thesis consists in the translation of the commentary on the Utpaladeva's "verses about the recognition" by the kashemirian philosopher Abhinavagupta who lived at the end of the tenth century and the beginning of the eleventh century. This text contains four sections which deal with energy of knowledge (rememoration, differentiation, cognition: their substratum is the permanent conscious subject), energy of action (different kinds of relation, causality, succession. . . ), the fundamental principle of the agamas (categories of reality, essential nature of the conscious subject), and finally a brief summary about reality. This translation is preceded by a presentation of the philosophical and religious context where this tantric current took place. A polemic about the self. . . Goes on, throughout the text, against the Buddhists and the dualists and different other doctrines.
