La creation de l'homme s'acheve avec sa perfection et elle ne peut s'accomplir sans la contribution decisive de son libre arbitre. La rationalite de l'homme est due au fait que dieu l'a cree en tant que miroir de sa presence. L'homme, en tant qu'etre raisonnable, ne peut pas supprimer sa rationalite constitutive a dieu, parce que la semence du logos sejourne a l'etat d'en puissance dans l'ame de l'homme, et meme du plus mechant. L'homme est libre, mais non pas ontologiquement independant de dieu puisqu'il est en participation constante, pas toujours en acte, a ce dernier. L'homme peut toujours par sa volonte libre, soit faire epanouir sa rationalite constitutive, soit la laisser s'affaiblir. Cependant origene semble etre persuade que la liberte de l'homme, don que dieu lui a fait, agit toujours comme le pedagogue de l'ame, et ce, sans contredire la providence divine.

Man's creation is brought to completion through his perfection which cannot be accomplishd without the decisive contributioin of his freedom. His rationality is due to the fact god has created him as a mirror of his presence. Man as a rational being cannot refute his rationality since the seed of word remains in force even in the soul of the worst sinner. Man is free but not ontologically independent of god, for he is always in constant relation with him, and through his free will he can always let his rationality either bear fruit or be weakened. At the end it seems origen is convinced that man's freedom, a fift of god, though not adverse to the divine providence it always acts as pedagogue towards his perfection.
