The objective of this study is to give prominence to the role of the money movement in the banking expansion in lebanon, from the year 1850 until 1983. This is the reason behind presenting this study in two parts : - the first part is entitled "waiting for the bank in lebanon. " this research tries to test the effects of the money influx on the bank's role in the lebanese economy and to observe the banking develop- ment from 1850 until 1963, the date of the creation of the lebanese central bank. - beyond, starts the second part which is entitled "at last the bank in lebanon", beginning with the study of the framework and with the appearance of the lebanese banking system in 1963, in order to examine the function of the monetary flood in the reinforcement of the banking activities with the thread of events of the lebanese war and the israeli occupation of the country in 1983.

L'objectif poursuivi dans cette etude est de mettre en evidence le role du mouvement de capitaux dans l'expansion bancaire au liban de l'annee 1850 jusqu'en 1983. C'est pourquoi cette etude se presente en deux grandes parties: - dans la premiere partie intitulee "en attendant la banque au liban", cette recherche essaie d'examiner les effets de l'afflux des capitaux sur le role de la banque dans l'economie libanaise et de suivre le developpement bancaire de 1850 jusqu'en 1963 date de la creation de la banque centrale libanaise. - au-dela debute la deuxieme partie qui s'intitule "enfin la ban- que au liban", en allant de l'encadrement et par consequent l'ap- parition du systeme bancaire libanais en 1963, pour etudier le role des flux monetaires dans la consolidation du systeme et dans l'accroissement des activites bancaires avec le fil des evenements de la guerre libanaise et l'occupation du pays par israel en 1983.
