Approaching master Eckhart from a purely speculative point of view, the author attempts to learn what can be obtained from the philosopher's theory of intelligibility. Beginning with the "i am who am" (ego sum qui sum) of exodus, the author traces the various exegetical, theological, metaphysical and spiritual dimensions of language in order to arrive at his conclusion, namely that out of the dynamic self-statement of the absolute flows the principle by which, thanks to the mediation of the word, the soul's dialectical openness is revealed. In this way, it becomes possible to see, over and above the historical and cultural influences which color Eckhart’s thinking, the originality of his so-called "speculative" mysticism, and to see it as a coherent metaphysics according to which the soul, in its ultimate being, is identified with the divinity.

Sous le titre Maitre Eckhart et la métaphysique de l'exode, cette thèse, purement spéculative, constitue une proposition d'intelligibilité de la doctrine eckartienne selon ce qui peut être perçu de celle-ci. A partir de la phrase de l'exode : "je suis celui qui suis" (ego sum qui sum), à travers le mouvement du langage en ses dimensions exégétique, théologique, métaphysique et spirituelle, s'élabore la pensée du dynamisme auto-positionnel de l'absolu - principe auquel ressortit la dialectique de la percée de l'âme par la médiation du verbe. Ainsi apparait chez maitre Eckhart, au-delà même des influences historiques et culturelles qui ont pesé sur sa doctrine, l'originalité de sa mystique, dite "spéculative", en fonction de laquelle, sur l'horizon d'une justification métaphysique cohérente, le fond de l'âme s'identifie au fond de la déité.
