How does the process of "growing christian" come out of necessity? what is the relation between man plunged in time and god the eternel? man is a synthesis of possibility and necessity, eternal and temporall, infinite an finite. His existential task is to actualize this virtual synthesis. Wheter he reduces his existential reality to the ideel reality or to the social and rational reality, he can only achieve one of the double aspects of this synthesis, and thus he fails in his task, as achieving only one aspect, abolishes the principle of contradiction which is essential to the fact of existing. To abolish this principle means, in existential terms, to be in contradiction with oneself. We consider this contradiction as a paradox, either a rational incoherency or as a logical one. To exist is to actualize this fragile synthesis of contradictory elements. This can only be done referring to god. Existence is still a paradox which is not a concession but a category, an ontological determination expressing the relation between an individual plunged in time and god in his eternity. This paradox is unbearable to reason, a fact no system of knoweldge can integrate. Comment le "devenir chretien" releve-t-il de la necessite? et quel est le rapport de l'homme plonge dans le temps avec dieu, l'eternel? l'homme est une synthese de possibilite et de necessite, d'eternel et de temporel, de l'infini et du fini. Sa tache existentielle est d'actualiser cette synthese virtuelle. Qu'il reduise sa realite existentielle a la realite ideelle ou a la realite sociale et rationnelle, il ne satisfait qu'un des deux aspects de la synthese et manque donc a sa tache. Ne satisfaire qu'un aspect revient a abolir le principe de contradiction qu'est l'exister; l'abolir signifie en termes existentiels "etre en contradiction avec soi-meme". Nous considerons cette contradiction comme paradoxe en tant qu'incoherence rationnelle ou contradiction logique. Exister c'est actualiser cette synthese fragile des elements contradictoires; ce qui ne peut se faire qu'en se rapportant a dieu. L'existence est encore un paradoxe qui n'est plus une concession mais une categorie, une determination ontologique exprimant le rapport d'un individu plonge dans le temps a dieu dans l'eternite. Paradoxe qui n'est pas simple contradiction mais scandale pour la raison, realite qu'aucun systeme de savoir ne peut integrer. A travers l'oeuvre de kierkegaard, auteur religieux et maitre de l'ironie, notre etude se veut une mise en relief de la distance irreductible entre tout discours rationnel et existence humaine dans son authenticite.
