Apparently the kantian definition of man as a reasonable being contradicts the theory of the fragility of human nature. But far from excluding the state, these two theories form its basis, for that fragility is in fact only a consequence of the poor use made of reason, in other words, of liberty. It is the state which intervenes as a privileged place to safeguard man's liberty through laws, and thanks to a historical movement.

Apparemment, la definition kantienne de l'homme comme etre raisonnable contredit la these de la fragilite de la nature humaine. Mais loin d'exclure l'etat, elles en forment le fondement car la fragilite n'est en fait qu'une consequence du mauvais usage de la raison, c'est-a-dire de la liberte. C'est l'etat qui intervient donc comme lieu privilegie pour sauvegarder cette liberte de l'homme par le droit, grace a un mouvement de l'histoire.
