Our questioning about the nature of Chance will be approached in a reflection about his opposite. This, we will see, is the individual spirit, of which we will see the complexity : reason and will (active awareness), perception (passive awareness). The relation of these opposites is dynamic, unrepresentable, not bounding together two definite and mutually exclusive substances, but two reciprocally engendered beeings in which the advent of the one calls that of the other in an aesthetical balance. Out of our vision of the spirit, we will propose a classification of the destinies, of which we will count four. But, if we want to surround the nature of Chance, a poetical language will seem the only mean. And that shows a link between Chance and Beauty. To think Chance with the concepts of cause or possible takes us away from his beeing that is entirely harmonic and aesthetically constituted.

Notre questionnement sur la nature du hasard est abordé à partir d'une réflexion sur son contraire. On identifiera celui-ci comme l'esprit individuel, dont on montrera la complexité : raison et volonté (conscience active), perception (conscience passive). La relation de ces contraires est dynamique, non représentable, ne reliant pas deux substances définies et exclusives l'une de l'autre, mais deux êtres qui s'engendrent réciproquement et dont la venue de l'un appelle celle de l'autre dans un équilibre esthétique. A partir de notre vision de l'esprit, nous proposerons une classification des destins, au nombre de quatre. Mais, si nous voulons cerner le hasard, un langage poétique s'impose, dénonçant son lien avec la Beauté. Penser le hasard à partir de la cause et du possible ne nous donne pas accès à son être, qui est tout entier harmonique et esthétiquement constitué.
