This thesis is an attempt to show that "poeticity" in the proustian novel lies in the qualitative changing of meaning. There are two different levels in the analysis: the referent and the language. This division allow us to consider artin this case, the art of language - as the answer to the "inadequacy" of the poetic character of the world. Poeticity in the text is the result of the union of form and content: the meaning is conveyed by the form, that is, by the style. Thanks to appropriate stylistic processes, the writer succeeds in abolishing the difference between the various elements of the speech, and in imposing a new coherence on them. Thus the text of a la recherche du temps perdu becomes the linguistic equivalent of "incorporated" time, where each element operates as a sign of return.

L'objectif de notre these est de montrer que la poeticite du roman proustien reside dans le changement qualitatif du sens. Notre analyse est placee a deux niveaux distincts: celui du referent et celui de l'ecriture. Ce partage nous permet de considerer l'art, en l'occurence l'art du langage, comme la reponse a l' "insuffisance" du caractere poetique du monde. La poeticite du texte resulte de l'union de la forme et du fond: le sens y est porte par la forme, donc par le style. Grace a des procedes stylistiques appropries, l'ecrivain reussit a indifferencier divers elements du discours et a leur imposer une coherence de type nouveau. Le texte d'a la recherche du temps perdu devient ainsi l'equivalent linguistique du temps retrouve ou "incorpore" ou chaque element fonctionne comme un signe de retour.
