Les annees 1938-1948 constituent, pour francis ponge, une periode extremement riche marquee par la reorientation, la reorganisation et le renouveau de sa poetique. Il s'agit d'abord d'une epoque de reorientation, durant laquelle, on constate une remise en question des themes et des concepts sur lesquels se fonde l'ecriture du parti pris des choses. Notamment, l'opinion sur le langage connait un changement impotant. Les annees 1938-1948 sont egalement une periode de reorganisation, ou le visage du poeme en prose pongien connait une grande mutation notamment au niveau su systeme d'enonciation et de la longueur de la phrase. Enfin cette periode se remarque par l'emergence de nouveaux genres comme le journal poetique compose d'une serie de brouillons, l'aphorisme, la critique d'art, le billet journalistique et la conference, chacun obligeant en quelque sorte ponge a considerer son rapport avec le monde, le langage et lecteur avec un novueau regard. En particulier, la redaction des essais esthetiques lui ont permis de voir la creation litteraire sous une optique nouvelle.

The years 1938-1948 are, for francis ponge, an extremely rich period marked by a reorientation, a reorganisation and a renewal of his poetics. First of all, it is a period of reorientation, during which, the themes and the concepts on which il founded the writing of le parti pris des choses are questioned. Especially the opinion on the langage knows an important change. The years 1938-1948 are also a period of reorganisation, when the face of the pongian poem knows a large mutation as regards the statement system and the length of the sentences for instance. Finally, this period is remarked for new literary genres emerage as the poetic diary composed of successive rough copies , the aphorism, the art criticism, the column and the conference, and each of these compel ponge to look upon his relati on with thee world, the language and the reader in a new way. Prticullary, the writing of essays on aesthetics allowed him to consider literary creation in a new light.
