This study consists of applying the semiotic theoretical model of the school of Paris to Arab, French, and Berber tales. The application of this model to this type of tales allowed us to check the universality of the model in question and to see to what extent the text can be conformable to the narrative logic. It was concluded that the sociocultural axiological dimension which shapes out the story contributes to the modification of the narrative structure. Therefore, we cannot claim the universality of the theoretical model in question as being able to cope with any type of tales, because the text-by virtue of its specificity- goes sometimes beyond the boundaries of a given model and requires some appropriate dimensions for its own structure.

Notre recherche consiste à appliquer le modèle théorique sémiotique de l'école de Paris à des contes arabes, français et berbères. La mise en rapport de ce modèle et de cette catégorie de récits nous a permis de tester l'universalité du modèle et de voir à quel point le texte obéit a la logique narrative. Nous avons pu déduire que la dimension axiologique socio-culturelle dans laquelle s'insère le récit contribue à la modification de sa structure. Par conséquent on ne peut pas prétendre a un modèle théorique universel capable de rendre compte de tout type de récit car le texte dépasse parfois le modèle et lui impose désormais sa propre structure.
