After a short historical synthesis, the study deals with mary magdalen's liturgical figure, from gregory the great's allegorical exegesis to the xvth century moralizing preaching. The with hymns and prayers in her honour. The second part explores the emergence of the marvellous in the hagiographic legend elaborated by vezelay. The ever growing pregnance of profane motives and the political use of the saint by the duchy of burgundy. The study finally approaches the role of mary magdalen in medieval dramatic art, from the liturgical latin drama to xvth century passion mysteries, that is to say, from allegory to ecclesial didactism.

Apres une courte synthese historique, l'etude s'attache a la figure liturgique de marie-madeleine, de l'exegese allegarique de gregoire le grand a la predication moralisante du xve siecle, puis aux hymnes et prieres en son honneur la seconde partie explore la naissance du merveilleux dans la legende hagiographique elaboree par veezelay, la pregnance sans cesse croissante de motifs profanes et l'utilisation politique de la sainte par le duche de bourgogne. L'etude aborde enfin le role de marie-madeleine dans la dramaturgie medievale, du drame liturgie latin aux mysteres de la passion du xve siecle, c'est-a-dire de l'allegorie au didactisme ecclesial.
