A set of two books, voltaire, soi-disant, and pour un perec lettre, chiffre, and some articles arguing that biography, as a genre, relies on a poetics of the beside, i. E. An adventure on the various forms of emptiness of the signifier where the subject comes from; subject itself exterior to the work but closely linked to it in the reading process. An author is first a proper name, trace of an absence, the actual signified of which being limited; then the product of the reading of the work. For the reader, what happens is therefore at the level of the imaginary and is not essentially concerned with knowledge. Beside the work is built up by the reading of the it a final character, a maker, memorised from the reading, the encounter of which with the biographical documents creates the true topic of literary biography

Un dossier de deux livres, voltaire, soi-disant, et pour un perec, lettre, chiffre, et d'articles soutenant que le genre biographique releve d'une poetique de la-cote, c'est-a-dire d'une aventure sur les vides du signifiant ou se forme le sujet; sujet lui-meme en dehors de l'oeuvre mais intrinsequement relie a elle par une experience de lecture attachee a un nom propre. Un auteur est d'abord un nom propre, marque d'une absence et dont le signifie est limite; puis la resultante d'une lecture de l'oeuvre. Pour un lecteur, ce n'est donc pas au niveau du savoir mais a celui de l'imaginaire que tout se joue. A cote de l'oeuvre est ainsi construit par la lecture un ultime personnage, un faiseur, etre de memoire, geste retenu de l'ecriture dont la rencontre avec les documents biographiques, ces defets d'une vie, cree le corps du sujet de la biographie litteraire.
