Study of the war theme in three romantic works of Julien Gracq: "Le Rivage des Syrtes", "Un Balcon en forêt", "Le Roi Cophetua". First of all, analysis of the facts of war in these three works; mythical war in "Le Rivage des Syrtes", 'drôle de guerre' in "Un Balcon en forêt" with the double point of view; waiting for the eight month laps of time before the outbreak of the war and during the four day German attack on the 'maison forte' (stronghold) diverse allusions to the year 1917 in the short story "Le Roi Cophetua". Then, a study of the passage about historical or pseudo-historical events to the romantic realities. Thanks to the transformation of evente (deshistorisation) and the techniques of the gracquian character; finally, overlap of the war theme and gracquian themes (waiting, travelling, boat, woman, sign).

Etude du thème de la guerre dans trois œuvres romanesques de Julien Gracq : "Le Rivage des Syrtes", "Un Balcon en forêt", "Le Roi Cophetua". D’abord, analyse des faits de guerre dans ces trois œuvres : guerre mythique dans "Le Rivage des Syrtes", 'drôle de guerre' dans "Un Balcon en forêt" avec le double point de vue des huit mois d'attente d'un déclenchement de la guerre et des quatre jours de l'attaque allemande sur la maison forte, allusions diverses à l'année 1917 dans la nouvelle du "Roi Cophetua". Ensuite, étude du passage des faits historiques ou pseudo-historique aux réalités romanesques. Grâce à la transformation des événements (deshistorisation) et aux moyens traditionnels gracquiens ; enfin, contact entre le thème de la guerre et les thèmes gracquiens (attente, voyage, bateau, femme, singe).
