Contemporary poetic writing, through peotry, looks to redefine itself by breaking with mechanisms of conceptual thought and privileging, within words, the practice of vision. In this way, the poet tries to escape from the exile of language by grounding himself in concrete experience and reestablishing bonds with "the world" (the earth, objects, the cosmos, the real, unity). A new difinition of the subject emerges from this regeneration of writing : the model of the poet-prophet is replaced by that of the poet-sooth (he who can read the signs there where words are silent). Writing about painting is within the logic of the evolution of poetry in our time. This writing is an ideal partner for the silent arts and opens them to the possobility of exchange.

L'ecriture poetique contemporaine cherche, a travers la peinture, a se redefinir, en se liberant des mecanismes de la pensee conceptuelle et en privilegiant, a l'interieur des mots, une pratique du regard. Le poete tente ainsi d'echapper a l'exil du langage, en enracinant sa poesie dans une experience concrete et en renouant les liens avec "le monde" (choses, terre, presence, unite ou cosmos. . . ). Une nouvelle definition du "sujet" se degage de cette regeneration de l'ecriture : le modele du poete-prophete fait place a celui du poete-devin (celui qui sait lire les signes la ou les mots se taisent). Ecrire sur la peinture est dans la logique le l'evolution de la poesie a notre epoque. Celle-ci s'offre comme partenaire ideal des arts silencieux, et les ouvre a un echange.
