It is shown that linguistic theory cannot explain the underlying determinism of the symptomatology of agrammatism. A more appropriate theoretical framework is developed, and it naturally predicts that an attentional deficit entails a processing asynergia which may in turn lead to an adaptive strategy : the agrammatic discourse.
