The code of the imaginary and the oneiric in albert cohen's work comes in the form of a network of metaphors, signifiers and images which condenses within the myths and the idea of animality and "antinature". But it also works as a subversive code for all the myths brought into play in the text : through it space and time conceived as labyrinthine lose their sense of reality, and the relation to nature and the other is endowed with a very strong and personal emotional impact ; thus writing is given a structure which is as labyrinthine as the world's and the work drifts towards a proliferating baroque entropy.

Le code de l'imaginaire et de l'onirique dans l'oeuvre d'albert cohen se presente sous la forme d'un reseau de metaphores, de signifiants et d'images qui se condense dans les mythes et la pensee de l'animalite et de "l'antinature". Mais il fonctionne en meme temps comme un code de subversion de tous les mythes a l'oeuvre dans le texte : il derealise l'espace et le temps concus comme labyrinthiques, il colore le rapport a la nature et a l'autre d'une charge emotionnelle tres forte et tres personnelle, il structure l'ecriture de facon aussi labyrinthique que le monde et fait deriver l'oeuvre vers une entropie baroque proliferante.
