La notion d'aoriston de la philosophie à la grammaire

Certaines notions et categories de la grammaire antique, grecque et latine, n'ont pas recu une explication satisfaisante de leurs origines et de leur valeur. Dans les grammaires alexandrines (comme la techne de denys le thrace), dans la suntaksis d'appollonius dyscole, dans l'eouvre grammaticale de varron et dans les artes latines on trouve les categories "verbe aoriste" et "nom aoriston" (ce dernier correspondant, chez varron, au nom "infinitus"). Cette these tente de prouver que ces categories doivent etre mises en relation avec la notion d'aoriston, introduite par aristote dans le peri hermeneaias. Dans ce but, j'ai analyse l'aoriston onoma et l'aoriston rhema chez aristote; j'ai suivi l'evolution de ces deux notions dans la dialictique post-aristotelicienne (notamment chez theophraste) et dans le stoicisme de chrysippe, jusqu'a son adaptation a la grammaire.

Some notions and categories, which have been used in ancient grammar, have not been satistactorly explained concerning their origin and value. This thesis shows that "aorist names" and "aorist verb" (in alexandrinian grammars such as those by denys of thrax, or in apollonius dyscolus, in latin grammars - as in the case of varro where "aoriston" is translated as "infinitus" - or in artes) must be linked to the "oariston" notion introduced by aristoteles in peri khermeneias. The research analyses the role and the value of "aoriston onoma" and "aoriston rhema" in aristoteles, and describes their development in the post-aristotelian dialectics - particularly in theophrastus as well as in chrysippus stoicism, leading to the application of "aoriston" to grammar.
