It seems to us that the feminity is very important to the tournierian imaginery and that it takes an original and essential place in tournier's mind. Besides the feminine being constitutes an effective means to hit upon the lonely choisel's work. Our study : mythologies of the feminity in michel tournier's work begins with a whole typical feminine figures in the little girl, the mother. We will analyse how the feminity is seized, nocked at and praised. In the second part we will show that the woman's absence, far from constituting a deadlock is on the contrary a real ferment of productivity. This absence is also an advent of a baroque eroticism : robinson, alexander, the fetishist represent so many particular behaviours, so many aesthetic postures that this absence justifies. Actually it is this very sexual difference the author cares about. And he tries to transcend it by attempts of synthesis or by cancelling the essential characters. As a result, in a way the woman is rehabilitated. The masculine imaginary tries to redistribute a feminity from which he can't get rid of, among mythical figures that are the androgyne and the angel. Afterwards he gives up the idea and he finds in the clone the means to free himself from the feminity.

Il nous est apparu que la feminite occupait dans l'imaginaire tournierien une place essentielle et originale ; en outre l'etre feminin constitue un moyen efficace pour apprehender l'oeuvre du solitaire de choisel. Notre etude mythologies de la feminite dans l'oeuvre de michel tournier s'ouvre sur un ensemble de figures feminines typiques : chez la petite fille, l'amante, l'homosexuelle, la prostituee, la mere nous analysons comment la feminite se trouve apprehendee, epinglee, glorifiee. Dans la seconde partie nous montrons que l'absence de la femme, loin de constituer une aporie, est ferment de productivite et avenement d'un erotisme baroque : robinson, alexandre, le fetichiste representent autant de comportements particuliers, de postures esthetiques motives par cette absence. Finalement c'est bien la difference sexuelle qui preoccupe notre auteur ; ce dernier tente de la depasser en en tentant la synthese ou en en biffant les caracteres essentiels. D'une certaine facon la femme se trouve ainsi rehabilitee. L'imaginaire masculin s'efforce de redistribuer une feminite dont il ne peut se defaire, au sein de figures mythiques que sont l'androgyne et l'ange, avant d'y renoncer et de trouver dans le clone le moyen de s'en affranchir et de resoudre en apparence du moins les problemes lies a la difference.
