This thesis is a historic, theoretic and technical introduction to modern scots, followed by a scots-french dictionary which gives examples of current spoken and written scots. Several maps are included and illustrate the geopolitical position of scotland, the regional variants as well as the dominant variant and common geographical names.

La these comporte une introduction historique, theorique et technique de l'ecossais moderne, suivie d'un dictionnaire bilingue ecossais-francais qui donne des exemples en contexte de l7ecossais parle et ecrit actuellement. Plusieurs cartes montrent la situation geo-politique et l'ecosse, les regions des variantes et de la variante dominantes et les noms geographiques communs.
