Underneath a general confusion created by the name of ghoul in the folktale and the possible existence of this character in the realworld lies on arry of socio-economic, political and ecological data thal yielded a submissive culture. This culture has contributed through the process of symbolizing to the eugraving of the character of ghoul in the collective imagination of moroccous. Thus, the virtual existence of this character has been tranformed into an effective or at least possible one.

Derriere une confusion generale ayant trait a la denomination du conte d'une part et a une probable existence de l'ogre dans le reel, se cache une complexite de donnees socio-economiques, politiques et ecologiques qui ont produit une culture de resignation. Cette culture de resignation a contribue par symbolique interposee a ancrer le personnage de l'ogre dans l'imaginaire collectif des marocains. C'est alors que l'xistence virtuelle du gul s'est transformee en plus que vraisemblable pour devenir effective ou du moins possible.
