The first of this dissertation presents general questions about the the cfultural situation of amerindians, the linguisticand socio-cultural context, and the theorical foundations and method of our investigation of this language. This description of tunebo is intended as a contribution to an intercultural bilingual educative programme which rests on the use of the vernacular language. Our study aims at describing the tunebo language in a functional perspective in order to be able to apprehend the language in situation. The phonological description is essentially a phonematic representation, to be used is the next steps of the description. The chapter on grammatical categories combines a classification of grammatical categories and a presentation of the procedures to define them. Grammatical classes and lexical classes are differenciated. The third chapter deals with syntactival phenomena. The basic relations between monemes are presented and schematized through "syntactic visualisation". "minimal utterances", noun phrases and verbal groups are successively described. The last part is devoted to a presentation of authentic texts. Lastly, a dictionary of the tunebo terms appearing in the dissertation is given

La premiere partie de cette these presente les questions generales sur la situation culturelle des amerindiens, le contexte linguistique, le cadre socio-culturel, les principes et la methode de l'etude de la langue tuneba. Cette description du tunebo s'insere dans la perspective d'une contribution a la mise en oeuvre d'une politique educative bilingue interculturelle qui repose notamment sur une alphabetisation en langue vernaculaire. L'objectif de cette presentation est de rendre compte du fonctionnement du tunebo de facon a acceder a la langue en situation. La description phonologique vise essentiellement a avoir une representation phonematique pour les etudes suivantes. Le chapitre sur les categories grammaticales associe inventaire et presentation de la demarche utilisee pour leur definition. On differencie les inventaires grammaticaux et les inventaires lexicaux. Le troisieme chapitre aborde le domaine de la syntaxe. Sont presentees les relations entre les monemes schematisees par la "visualisation syntaxique". Le fonctionnement de l'enonce minimum est decrit en premier lieu; suivent l'etude du syntagme nominal puis du groupe verbal. Cette these se termine par la presentation de textes authentiques avec renvois aux contenus theoriques presentes anterieurement, et par l'inventaire du vocabulaire utilise.
