The subject is, by its own formulation, a comparative study of several litteratures wich offer the features of the romantic genius through the 19th century. It appears as the transcendance of the gregarious tendancy of the terrestrial life; adulated or hated, the genius got hold of the people in order to save them from the ignorance. Socrate's daimon, plato's divine delirium. Aristote's ekstasis, renaissance homo universale all this prepares the advent of the romantic genius. At the end of 18th century, to be a genius is more valuable than to have a genius and the sturn und drang takes every opportunity to implant the kraftgenie. In the european romantic atmosphere it becomes easy to be a person of genius. Jeune france et junge deutschland make all the sacrifices in orer to satiate themselves of the infinite. The romantic zeitgeist lives freelyits metamorphoses : the genius of the nature, of the imagination, of the dream, of the friendship and love, etc. In the typology of the romantic genius, the aesthetic considerations written by schopenhauer serve as a guide when we approach the romantic trinity : the poet, the magus and the artist (the painter, the musician) the poetry is the genius'maternal language and the poet sanctified by the new young people, becomes its purest prototype. De par sa formulation et son ambition, le sujet renvoie a une etude comparative de plusieurs litteratures afin d'y reveler les dominantes du genie romantique tel qu'il se manifesta dans son originalite et sa richesse tout au long du xixeme siecle. Vu comme une apparition qui transcende la tendance gregaire de la vie terrestre, adule ou meprise, le genie s'est empare des hommes pour sauver l'humanite de l'ignorance. Le daimon de socrate, le delire divin de platon, l'ekstasis d'aristote, l'uomo universale de la renaissance tout cela prepare l'evenement du genie romantique. A la fin du xviiieme siecle, etre un genie s'avere plus important qu'avoir du genie et le sturm und drang fait tout pour introniser le kraftgenid. Dans l'atmosphere romantique europeenne il devenait facile d'etre genial. Jeune france et junge deutschland sacrifient tout pour assouvir leur soif d'infini. Le zeitgeist romantique vivra en toute liberte ses metamorphoses comme mythes de l'humanite : le genie de la nature, de l'imagination, du reve, du moi, de l'amitie et de l'amour, etc. Dans la typologie du genie romantique, les considerations esthetiques de schopenhauer nous guident dans l'analyse de la trinite romantique : le poete, le mage et l'artiste. La poesie est sans nul doute la langue maternelle du genie et le poete, sanctifie par la nouvelle generation, devient son prototype le plus pur. Vigny et schopenhauer nous offrent l'une des approches les plus interessantes dans l'esthetique du genie romantique l'analyse du sujet ne pourrait etre complete sans un dernier arret au domaine de la symbolique du genie romantique : ange-hyperion-demon; titan-promethee-heros; voyantprophete-surhomme; decadent-dandy-intellectuel.
