This study on the theme of + the child as literary pretext in the maghreban novel (1950s-1980s) ; presents a suitable occasion to examine maghreban societies in a historical periode characterised by colonisation an decolonisation. The transition between these two modes engenders a new moral order and a new value system in wich eruptions from the past collid with projections on modernity. Maghreban societies undergoa search for selfhood in order to shape an identity wich links them to past that dominant history and ideology severed them from, and to a future whorse contours are very hard to identify. The image of maghreban societies in this literature hinges on the child who indeed focuses all the contradictions and all the questioning. The child is, on the one hand, attached to the past through the weight of traditionnal environment and, on the other challenged by an une asiness that leads to ill mastered protest. The character of the adolescent wavers between the myth of the past and a king of creative frenzy of world to be invented.

L'etude sur le theme : "l'enfant, pretexte litteraire dans le roman maghrebin des annees 1950 aux annees 1980" est l'occasion de traiter des societes maghrebines dans une tranche d'histoire marquee par la colonisation et la decolonisation. Le passage entre ces deux mondes enchaine un nouvel ordre de valeurs ou s'entrechoquent les resurgences du passe et des projections sur la modernite. Les societes se cherchent pour se faconner une identite culturelle qui les relie a un passe dont elles ont ete coupees par l'histoire et l'ideologie dominante, et a un futur dont il est difficile de cerner les contours. L'image des societes maghrebines, dans cette production litteraire, s'organise autour de l'enfant qui concentre en effet toutes les contracdictions et toutes les contestations. Il est rattache au passe par toutes les pesanteurs de l'environnement traditionnel et il est interpelle par une mal vie qui le conduit a une contestation non maitrisee. Le personnage de l'adolescent oscille entre le mythe du passe et une sorte de delire createur d'un monde a inventer.
