In his novel der nachsommer a. Stifter describs an initiatory trip during which the nature opens up under the walker's eye. The study begins with a portrait of the painter-writer stifter who shares his life beetwen his passion for the painting and his vocation to be a teacherwriter, goes on with the portrait of the painter-writer heinrich drendorf who at first developps his gift to watch the landscape all along his journeys and then his toughts about nature. It is a poetical and philosophical, a narrative and a thematic reading of the nature. His constent look on the nature is influenced by the painting of a writer who sees before he writes. Heinrich drendorf's painting of the landscape changed into a portrait of a man which shows the progressive realization of a human being.

Dans son roman der nachsommer, a. Stifter decrit un voyage initiatique ou la nature s'epanouit sous le regard du randonneur, heinrich drendorf. L'etude debute par un portrait du peintre-ecrivain stifter, dont la vie fut partagee entre sa passion pour l'art pictural et sa vocation d'ecrivain-pedagogue, se poursuit avec le portrait du peintre-ecrivain du nachsommer h. Drendorf qui au cours de ses voyages developpe tout d'abord son don d'observation du paysage puis ses reflexions sur la nature. Il s'agit d'une lecture a la fois poetique et philosophique, lineaire et thematique d'un regard arrete sur la nature influence par la peinture d'un ecrivain qui voit avant d'ecrire. La peinture des paysages de h. Drendorf se transforme en un portrait humain qui presente la realisation progressive d'un individu.
