Le traitement des procédés narratifs des Mille et une nuits dans quelques recueils de contes français du XVIII siècle

The great success obtained by the thousand and one nights in france in the eighteenth century has been, of course, favoured by the translator's talent, and by the cultural conjuncture. However, the main factor of this success is the originalty of the narrative processes (such as the framework, the setting, the multiplication of the indices, the narration on the first person) used in the collection. Desirous to assure a large diffusion to their works, many french writers of the 18th century took up these narrative processes to whos they underwent some modifications meant to adapt them to the new taste and to the new aspirations of the reader.

Le grand succes que les mille et une nuits ont obtenu en france au dix-huitieme siecle fut, certes, favorise par le talent du traducteur, et par la conjoncture culturelle. Cependant, le principal facteur de ce succes est l'originalite des procedes narratifs (tel l'encadrement, l'enchassement, la multiplication des indices, la narration a la premiere personne) utilises dans le recueil. Desireux d'assurer a leurs oeuvres une large diffusion, plusieurs ecrivains francais du xviii siecle ont repris ces procedes auxquels ils ont fait subir quelques remaniements destines a les adapter au nouveau gout et aux nouvelles aspirations du lecteur.
