Le réalisme dans les littératures d'Indonésie et des Philippines : comparaison entre Pramoedya Ananta Toer et Amado Hernandez

The social histories of the literary traditions of the malay world, studied and analyzed from the comparative point of view, has yet to be undertaken. The present doctoral dissertation takes up a limited but an extremely important aspect of this area of research: the realist tradition in indonesian and philippine literatures with particular emphasis on the literary works of two contemporary and committed writers of the region: pramoedya ananta toer (1925 - ) of indonesian nationality and amado hernandez (1903-1970) of filipino nationality, with the end in view of bringing out the numerous intersting parallels or comparisons between the historical settings, the social contexts they describe and analyze. The goal or the raison d'etre of this comparative study is to present a number of significant "documentary sources" relating to the intellectual and social histories of island southeast asia.

L'analyse comparee des histoires sociales des traditions litteraires du monde insulindien reste a entreprendre. Cette these pour le nouveau doctorat en histoire et civilisations traite un aspect limite et pourtant dominant et de premiere valeur de cette immense entreprise: l'esquisse d'une histoire litteraire axee sur les courants realistes indonesien et philippin, en particulier dans les oeuvres de deux auteurs contemporains, heritiers d'une lignee d'ecrivains engages: pramoedya anata toer (1925- ) de nationalite indonesienne et amado hernandez (1903-1970) de nationalite philippine, afin d'etablir des rapprochements entre les moments historiques, les contextes sociaux qu'ils decrivent et analysent. Bref, la raison d'etre de cette etude comparative est de presenter d'importantes "sources documenaires" sur les mentalites et les societes insulindiennes ou nousantariennes.
