From youth onwards claudel has taste for art. His knowledge of fine arts begins to deepen particularly in the 1920's. Then, in the 1930's he writes several essays about this subject. The object of our thesis consists in studying some aspects of claudel's appreciation of fine arts. To be more concrete, we present three main themes. Each of them constitutes one chapter in our thesis. The first chapter treats of claudel contemplating japanese arts that make rich for the first time his knowledge of fine arts. In the second chapter we attempt to analyze introduction a la peinture hollandaise, particularly the genesis of this texte. Finally, in the last chapter we will make clear the relation between claudel's interpretation of fine arts and his commentary of the bible.

Depuis sa jeunesse claudel n'a cesse de s'interesser aux oeuvres d'art variees, mais c'est surtout a partir des annees 1920 que sa connaissance s'approfondit a cet egard. Dans les annees 1930 il redige plusieurs essais analytiques sur les beaux-arts. Notre these a donc pour but de reflechir sur ces aspects. Plus concretement, nous traiterons de trois sujets fondamentaux dont chacun constitue un chapitre. Le premier chapitre considere claudel face a l'art japonais qui approfondit tout d'abord sa connaissance esthetique. Dans le second chapitre nous essayons une analyse d'introduction a la peinture hollandaise, sa genese en particulier. Enfin, dans le dernier chapitre, nous mettons en relief le lien etroit qui s'etablit entre son interpretation des oeuvres d'art et son commentaire de la bible.
