De la didactique à la littérature : l'enfance dans les contes français et africains de sources orales

The representation of childhood is a major theme in Litterature. The atypical images of the child found in the Greek-Roman civilization and in Religious texts appear in forms that are profane and entertaining through storytelling, a uiversal litterary genre which has nurtured hunanity's children from the mists of time. My research aims at analysing the didactic function along with the aesthetic aspect of this litterary genre. Then, using a comparative method, analyse the various representations of the child in French and African tales. Tales are inseparable from the cultural context in which they are told, thus conveying messages through symbolic codes underlying the imagination of a particular social group. This socio-anthropological approach to storytelling is carried out concurrently with a litterary approach based on stylistics and theories common to tales. My aim is to analyse the poetry in tales with a view to revealing the charm of these ageless narratives

La figure de l’enfance est un thème majeur qu’on retrouve dans lalittérature. Les images atypiques de l’enfant qu’on rencontre dans les récits mythiques du monde gréco-romain et les textes fondateurs, apparaissent sous d’autres formes, profanes et ludiques, à travers le conte oral, genre littéraire universel qui a bercé l’enfance de l’humanité depuis la nuit des temps. Notre recherche vise à apprécier à la fois la fonction didactique et l'aspect esthétique de ce genre. Puis suivra une analyse des diverses représentations de l’enfance dans les contes français et africains de sources orales suivant une méthode comparatiste. Le conte est indissociable du contexte culturel dans lequel il est produit, aussi transmet-il un message qui se comprend à la lumière des codes symboliques qui sous-tendent l’imaginaire d’un groupe social donné. Cette approche socio-anthropologique des textes est menée parallèlement avec une démarche littéraire basée sur la stylistique et les théories du récit. Notre objectif est avant tout d’apprécier la poétique du conte en vue de révéler le charme de ces récits sans âge.
