Book X of the "Roman Antiquities" of Dionysius of Halicarnassus relates the plebeian fight for a motion of law on the publication of a statute law in Rome, resulting in the institution of the Decemvirate and the publication of the XII Tables in the years 461 to 450 B. C. The introduction analyses the episodes of the book and insists on the moral and political thought of Dionysius of Halicarnassus in his interpretatio graeca of the codification of laws. The principles of edition result from the collation of the ten manuscripts of the direct tradition and of three manuscripts of excerpta. The text was established according to three old manuscripts, including Vaticanus gr. 1300, unknown from C. Jacoby, author of the latest edition of the text (Teubner, 1891). The translation in French is the first one since that proposed by F. Bellanger in 1723. The linear commentary of the text includes historical, lexical and philological notes.

Le livre X des Antiquités Romaines de Denys d'Halicarnasse est consacré à la lutte des plébéiens pour obtenir le vote de la loi sur la publication d'un droit écrit à Rome, qui aboutit à l'institution du décemvirat et à la publication des XII Tables, dans les années 461 à 450 avant J. -C. La notice analyse les différents épisodes du livre, en insistant sur la réflexion morale et politique menée par l'historien dans son interpretatio graeca de la codification du droit à Rome. Les principes d'édition du texte résultent de la collation des dix manuscrits de la tradition directe et de trois manuscrits d'excerpta. Le texte a été établi d'après trois manuscrits anciens, dont le Vaticanus gr. 1300, inconnu de C. Jacoby, l'auteur de la dernière édition en date (Teubner, 1891). La traduction en français est la première depuis celle publiée par F. Bellanger en 1723. Le commentaire linéaire du texte comporte des notes historiques, lexicales et philologiques.
