Using Ricoeur hermeneutical theory, the aim of this study is to shed a light on the fiction work of Marguerite Yourcenar from the points of view of liberty and destiny. Her notions liberty and destiny are esssentially derived from the karma concept. But, the formation of the metaphysical thought of Marguerite Yourcenar shows the complexity and the depth of her syncretic approach, based on chritianism, then on the greco-roaman culture, and finally on the Eastern religions. . .

Appliquant la théorie hermeneutique ricoeurienne, cette étude entreprend d'éclairer l'oeuvre romanesque de Marguerite Yourcenar sous l'angle de la liberté et du destin. Les notions de la liberté et du destin chez elle viennent essentiellement de la notion du kerma. Or la formation de la pensée métaphysique de Marguerite Yourcenar démontre la complexité et la profondeur par sa démarche syncrétique, fondée par le christianisme, puis par la culture gréco-romaine, enfin par les religions d'Extrême Orient. . .
