Le fantastique dans l'oeuvre narrative de dino buzzati

Italian militant criticism has often severely judget buzzati, according to ideological criteria. Our thesis takes stock of the present situation and of the reappraisal of the fantastic, thanks to the analysis of the enunciations and rhetoric techniques which buzzati used to produce this "uneasy strangeners". This study also covers a certain number of themes: metamorphosis, monstruonsness, perverted sexuality, a fact with the devil, temptation, all of which imply a certain kind af animality. Ofters aspects of the fantastic were also examined: time and space (colors, noices, recurrent spatial illustrations, antagonistic elements such as valley vs mountain, north vs south). According to us, buzzati's fantastic is not opposed to reality but leads to the exploration and criticism of the latter. Since it enables the author to express his fantasies, it becomes a therapy which counteracts melancholia. It also carries a message that is singular through coherent. It advocates that reality is so complex that it is useless and vain to seek to define it by using realistic notions. Buzzatian fantastic reflect the image of a disjoincted, incoherent world.

La critique italienne "militante" a souvent juge severement buzzati a partir de criteres ideologiques. Notre these fait le point sur la situation actuelle et sur la revalorisation du fantastique grace a l'analyse du processus de l'enonciation et des procedes rhetoriques mis en oeuvre pour produire "l'inquietante etrangete". L'etude porte egalement sur un certain nombre de themes: metamorphose, monstruosite, sexualite pervertie, pacte avec le diable, tentation, faisant intervenir une forme d'animalite. D'autres instruments du fantastique sont etudies: le temps et l'espace (couleurs, bruits, figures spatiales recurrentes, elements antagonistes comme plaine vs montagnes, nord vs sud). Selon nous, le fantastique buzzatien ne s'oppose pas a la realite mais en permet une exploration et une critique. En permettant aux fantasmes de l'auteur de se manifester, il devient une therapeutique pour enrayer le mal de vivre. Il transmet egalement un message singulier mais coherent: il proclame que la realite est si complexe qu'il est inutile de vouloir la circonscrire au moyen d'un discours de type realiste. Le fantastique buzzatien renvoie l'image d'un monde eclate et discontinu.
