The thesis described in depth the inflected process of establishing diplomatic relations between China and France after 1949, and analyzed a series of historical events taken place during the period of 1964 to 1994 and their impact on the development of the foreign relations between the two countries. The thesis is based on the author's understanding of a large number of documentations from Chinese and French archives.

Cette étude historique des relations sino-françaises basée sur des documents chinois et français, analyse les mobiles qui ont isolé Beijing (Pékin) de la scène internationale depuis la fondation de la République populaire de Chine en 1949, pour être finalement reconnue par Paris en 1964, rapporte leb déroulement des relations diplomatiques sino-françaises de 1964 à 1994.
