This work is both as its title tells, an archaeological and a bibliographical inventory of the deposits and objects discovered in the department of tarn and this in a chronological period going from the end of the bronze age to the beginning of our era. This inventory is archaeological because the habitats, the necropolis as well as the natural resources and the objects of everyday life have been studied. This part of the work is supplemented by a volume of maps of repartition of the deposits among the districts. These maps are in fact the revealers only of the hiatus of archaeological researchs more than of the inhabited zones. A particular place has been reserved to the coins. They are the object of a separate volume because they are a precious proof of teachings for the archaeologist. This inventory is also bibliographical because it was voluntarily kept within the limits of published deposits. Thus several hundreds of french and foreign books and periodicals in wich were mentionned these deposits were looked into.

Ce travail est a la fois comme son titre l'indique un inventaire archeologique et bibliographique des gisements et des objets decouverts dans le departement du tarn et ce dans une tranche chronologique allant de la fin de l'age du bronze au debut de notre ere. Cet inventaire est archeologique car ont ete etudie les habitats, les necropoles ainsi que les ressources naturelles et les objets de la vie courante. Cette partie se double d'un volume de cartes de repartition des gisements par cantons. Ces cartes ne sont en fait revelatrices que des lacunes des recherches archeologiques et non des zones habitees. Il a ete reserve une place particuliere aux monnaies. Elles font l'objet d'un volume separe car elles sont pour l'archeologue un precieux temoin riche d'enseignements. Cet inventaire est aussi bibliographique car il a ete volontairement limite aux sites ayant fait l'objet d'une publication. Ont ete recherche dans les periodiques francais et etrangers ainsi que dans les ouvrages toutes les mentions faisant etat de ces derniers. Il a ete ainsi depouille plusieurs milliers d'ouvrages et periodiques.
