Saint-Germain-en Laye-, 1887, that's where and when Edouard Bourdet was born, on the twenty six of october. From the beginning of his life, he was in love with the theatre. His first play Le Rubicon, was actd 1910 on january the seventeenth. La Prisonniere came out in 1926, the year when he was recognized as a real play wright. Fom that date he wrote many successful plays : Vient de paraitre (1927), Le Sexe faible (1929), Les Temps difficiles (1934), Fric-frac (1936). . . From 1936 to 1940 he directed "la Comédie-Française". He died in 1945 on the seventeenth of january. His whole work was on the side of what was called "le théâtre de boulevard". It’s an amount of historical informations of that time.

Edouard Bourdet né le 26 octobre 1887 à Saint-Germain-en-Laye ressent des l'enfance l'amour du théâtre. Il fait jouer sa première pièce, Le Rubicon, le 17 janvier 1910 mais c'est en 1926 qu'il obtient la consécration avec La Prisonniere. A partir de cette date les succès se suivent : Vient de paraitre (1927), Le Sexe faible (1929), Les Temps difficiles (1934), Fric-frac (1936). . . De 1936 à 1940 il administre la Comédie-Française. Il s'éteint le 17 janvier 1945. Son œuvre dramatique se situe en marge du théâtre de boulevard et constitue un document d'époque à valeur historique.
