A study of the behaviour of the german occupier in the three departments of calvados, manche and orne between 1940 and 1944. This study turn also on the perception of the occupation by the occupied populations and try to quantify the heaviness and the consequences of the presence of the ennemy. The text is linked together in three parts. - a geographical and socio-economical presentation of lower normandy and its people. - a description of the german attendance and its intensification. - an analysis of imposed contraints to the lower normandy population and the way from which they have been lived.

Une étude du comportement de l'occupant allemand dans les trois départements du Calvados, de la Manche et de l'Orne entre 1940 et 1944. Cette étude porte aussi sur la perception de l'occupation par les populations occupées et tente de quantifier la pesanteur et les conséquences de la présence ennemie. Le texte est articulé en trois parties : une présentation géographique et socio-économique de la Basse-Normandie et de ses habitants en 1940, une description de la présence allemande et de son renforcement , une analyse des contraintes imposées à la population bas normande et de la manière dont elles ont été vécues.
