Our report is based on an inventory of 148 buildings or projets in different spanish regions and towns ranged between the years 1840 and the begining of the 1930's. It's beendivided into three parts. The first one deals with the historical and urban aspects : the significance of the markets in the changing and growth of the towns in the nineteenth centuty ; its links to the town hall power ; its relation to the traditional commercial costoms and to the new economic and communication structures ; its geographical setting and the evolution of the building methods ; the identity of their autors. The second part deals with the definition of types : theoretical and practical inspiration sources ; the architectural program imperatives, the concept of space ; the evolution of the plan settlement. The third part approaches the style subject : the formal languages evolution between neoclassic and modern movement goping throug the diversity of the eclectic culture, art nouveau movement and the new "historicismus" of the beginig of our century. The annexes collect significant passages from the new projets memories. The album presents the graphic documents related to listed buildimgs and projects as well as to images quoted as illustration or parellel.

Notre etude est fondee sur un inventaire de 148 edifices ou projets de differentes regions et villes espagnoles entre les annees 1840 et le debut des annees 1930. Cette etude comprend trois parties. La premiere partie porte sur les aspects urbanistiques et historiques : le role des marches dans la transformation et la croissance des villes au siecle dernier ; leur liaison avec le pouvoir municipal ; leur relation avec les habitudes commerciales traditionnelles et avec les nouvelles structures economiques et les moyens de transport ; leur implantation geographique ; l'evolution des moyens de construction ; l'identite des promoteurs, constructeurs et ediles. La deuxieme partie concerne la definition typologique : les sources theoriques et pratiques ;les imperatifs du programme architectural ; le concept d'espace ; l'evolution de la distribution du plan. La troisieme partie analyse la question stylistique et l'evolution des langates formels : le neo-classicisme, la diversite de la culture eclectique, les courants art nouveau, les nouveaux historicismes du debut de notre siecle et les tendances qui ont precede le mouvement moderne. Il faut y ajouter les annexes qui sont un recueil d'extraits de memoires de projets inedits. L'album est constitue par la documentation graphique concernant les edifices et les projets repertories, et par des planches illustrant notre texte ou pouvant etre mises en parallele.
