The correspondance of eugene yannoulis has great importance as regards the study of hellenism in the 17th century. It represents, among otherthings, a valuable source of information on both the cultural and educational developments which were made during the coruse of the century. As a disciple and a member of the school of theophile corydalee, the athenian philosopher who first introduced the neo-aristotelism of padua to the hellenic orient, eugene yannoulis, during his long life, taught in most parts of mainlnand greece. He left behind him numerous disciples who continued his work as a teacher and his academic tradition. The correspondance between him and various scholars, teachers, clergymes, uneducated men, throughs light on the problems of hellenic society of the time.

La correspondance d'eugene yannoulis est tres importante pour l'histoire de l'hellenisme du xviie siecle. Elle represente , entre autres, une source d'informations precieuses sur les developpements effectues dans le domaine culturel au cours de ce siecle, aussi bien que dans le domaine de l'enseignement. Disciple et membre du cercle de theophile corydalee, le philosophe athenien qui a introduit le neo-aristotelisme de padoue dans l'orient hellenique, eugene yannoulis, pendant sa tres longue vie, a enseigne dans presque toute la grece continentale. Il a laisse aussi bon nombre de disciples qui ont continue son oeuvre d'enseignant et sa tradition savante. Les lettres echangees entre lui et plusieurs savants, enseignants, hommes du clerge, gens du peuple, nous revelent les problemes et les preoccupations de la societe hellenique de l'epoque.
