The thesis attempts to shed light on the symmetry phenomenon and the concept of reference country as represented by marusia the aim of the study is to show that this territory enjoyed the privilege of original relations, a fact which might seem paradoxal given the ethnic and linguistic unity of the Maghreb. Literary and archeological sources are certainly of great help for a better understanding of the moor country.

Il est question dans cette thèse de mettre l'accent sur le phénomène de symétrie, sur la notion de pays - repère qu'était la Maurusie, et ce pour montrer que cette contrée a presque toujours privilégié des rapports originaux. Cela représente un paradoxe si l'on se réfère à l'unité ethnique et linguistique que constitue l'ensemble maghrébin. Les sources littéraires et archéologiques permettent une meilleure approche du pays des maures.
