The excavation of one part of two medieval cimeteries, respectively joined to the basilica of saint-denis and to the neighbouring village of saint-marcel (now part of saint-denis itself) has allowed the archeological and anthropological study of the two sites for the early middle ages period the research focused on the evolution of funeral practices, on the develoment of the necropolis organization, on the social, demographic and morphological analysis and on the life conditions of the population buried and exhumed for the last ten years.

La fouille d une partie de deux cimetieres medievaux, respectivement rattaches a la basilique de saint-denis et au bourg de saint-marcel (actuellement dans la ville de saint-denis), a permis l etude archeologique et anthropologique des deux sites pour la periode du haut moyen age. Les recherches ont porte sur l evolution des pratiques funeraires, le developpement de l organisation des necropoles et l analyse sociale - demographique - , morphologique et des conditions de vie des populations inhumees et exhumees au cours de ces dix dernieres annees.
