The purpose of this thesis is to examine the artistic relations between byzantine and western art, from the 11th cent. Until the end of the middle ages. The investigation focuses the annunciation and some scenes of the beginning of the incarnation. This study is interesting because the simultaneous examination of the two big artistic traditions of the christian art helps to explain many iconographical aspects which remain obscur if regarded separately. It has been pointed out that some venetian works of the beginning of the 14th c. Bare a byzantine influence due to the art of the crusaders, produced at the est mediterranean territories, during the 12th and 13th c. It has also been noted an occidental impulsion upon the byzantine art that concerns particularly the appearence of some typological prefiguration of the incarnation in the scene of the annunciation.

Le present travail examine les rapports artistiques entre byzance et l'art occidental, a travers le theme de l'annonciation et quelques scenes du debut de l'incarnation. La periode concernee va du xie siecle jusqu'a la fin du moyen age. La problematique de ce travail consiste a mettre en parallele l'iconographie byzantine et occidentale et de mettre en valeur leur interpenetration. L'interet de cette recherche reside sur le fait que l'etude simultanee des deux grands poles de la chretiente pendant le moyen age explique certains aspects qui restent obscurs tant qu'ils ne sont pas examines bilateralement. Nous attirons l'attention sur certains cas qui montrent l'influence byzantine dans quelques oeuvres venitiennes du debut du xive s. , due aux evenements des croisades. En outre, nous notons l'impulsion occidentale sur l'art byzantin en ce qui concerne particulierement la presence des prefigurations typologiques de l'incarnation dans la scene de l'annonciation.
