The understanding of the mystic and marabout movement as it was spread in the maghreb and especially in algeria, and the determination of its main mechanismes during the ottoman rule constitute the heart of the thesis. It must stressed that maraboutism has occupied a very important place in the history of algeria, since it influence different aspects of the country's life: spiritual, social and economic the first part deals with the important phases which the movement went through by throwing the light on the main (aspects) actors of that social movement. This exercise enabled us to know to a great extent the mechanisms by which the turks have controlled algeria, through the use of the movement to their advantage. The second and third parts concentrate on the understanding of the power of mediation which the marabout movement has used skill fully in order to counder the influence of the turks. In the 18th century, the movement was favoured by its double accumulation of wealth and charismatic influence on one part, and on the other part by the weakeness of the turks'power. Last, from the begining of the 19th century till the downfall of algeria, brotherhood (khuwan) and their disciples, in fact entered in a state of revolt against the turks. Le but de cette these vise a une comprehension du mouvement mysticomaraboutique tel qu'il s'est deploye dans l'espace maghrebin, a delimites les principaux mecanismes de son histoire dans le cadre de l'algerie ottomane. Le maraboutisme a eu une place preponderante dans l'histoire du maghreb en general et de l'algerie en particulier. Porteur d'un message religieux et mystique, le maraboutisme a exerce une influence multiforme sur les divers aspects de la vie: spirituelle, sociale, politique et economique l'histoire de la mystique en algeire en indiquant les phases qu'elle a parcourues. Nous y avons indique les principaux promoteurs de ce mouvement mystique a caractere social. Enfin, nous avons montre l'origine mystique par laquelle les turcs ont pu trouver encrage dans l'algerie de cette epoque. Dans la deuxieme et la troisieme parties, il sera question de pouvoir de mediation joue par les marabouts qui les a aide a se renforcer sur le plan politique et social au detriment de leurs concurrents turcs. Au xviiieme siecle, le mouvement maraboutique s'est trouve favorise tant par le double cumul de la richesse materielle et l'influence charismatique que par l'affaiblissement de l'autorite turque. Enfin, jusqu'a la chute d'alger, confreries et disciples n'ont pas cesse de s'attaquer a l'etat beylical.
