Abstract EN:

The research is carried out through three basic sets included in the dauphine documentation. The first one concerns the religious life in the orthodoxy to which are devoted the two first parts. The dominie impulse is analysed through the episcopal visitation and synodalia. The restoration and reconstruction of edifices, the clergy situation and the kind of pastoral play diffused (testimony of both the parochial theater and iconography) reveal the conditions and aspects of worship, the expose of which composes the second part of this work. The second documentary record is made of the witchcraft trials of fifteenth century. Theis analysis (third part) brings to thoroughfly examine the knowledge of both soocial and cultural environment and to clear out the consequences and the importance of the contemporary christianization effort, the trials of which are evidences themselves. The third record (fourth part) erables to deal with the problems linked to the waldenses doctrine entrenchment in upper dauphine. Repression, social survey of the heterodox environment, worship and ideological basis of schism are described. A general confrontation, at the moment when the reformation reaches the area, strengthers the existence of two different sensibilities of same vitality, which justifies the significant confrontations of sixteenth century and outlines the prefiguration of both modern conceptions of christian life, deeply rooted in the medieval legacy.

La recherche est conduite a travers les trois massifs fondamentaux que comporte la documentation dauphinoise. Le premier concerne la vie religieuse au sein de l'orthodoxie a laquelle sont consacrees les deux premieres parties. Visites pastorales et statuts synodaux permettent d'analyser l'impulsion du magistere. La restauration et la reconstruction des edifices, la situation du clerge et le type de pastorale diffusee (temoignage du theatre paroissial et de l'iconographie), eclairent les conditions et les aspects de la pratique, dont l'expose constitue la deuxieme partie de ce travail. Le deuxieme dossier documentaire est celui des proces de sorcellerie du quinzieme siecle. Leur analyse (troisieme partie) amene a approfondir la connaissance du milieu social et culturel et a degager les consequences et la portee de l'effort de christianisation contemporain, dont les proces sont euxmemes le temoignage. Le troisieme ensemble (quatrieme partie) permet d'aborder les problemes lies a l'enracinement du valdeisme en haut dauphine. Repression, etude sociale du milieu heterodoxe, pratique et fondements ideologiques de la dissidence sont traites. Une confrontation d'ensemble, au moment ou la reforme penetre dans la region, impose la constatation de l'existence de deux sensibilites differentes, dont l'egale vitalite explique la gravite des affrontements du seizieme siecle et dessine les lineaments des deux conceptions modernes de la vie chretienne, profondement ancrees dans le legs medieval.
